Elders

Sam Hogarth
Assistant PastorSam was born into a Christian family in the Preston area and, by God’s grace, began to follow Jesus as a child. God has faithfully kept him since then.
Sam studied Physiotherapy at The University of Central Lancashire and worked for eight years at Blackpool Hospital. During this time he also spent four years as a part-time ministry trainee for a church near Merseyside. He has now made the move from Lancashire to Cumbria with his wife Olivia and son Harry.
In his spare time Sam enjoys sport, reading biographies and time spent with family and friends.

Paul Baxendale
PastorPaul is the Full-time Teaching Elder and devotes most of his time to teaching the Bible to the church family at Parr Street & Fell Church.
He is married to Jane and they have two adult sons, Peter and Stephen. Paul trained for the ministry at Ridley Hall in Cambridge. After serving as an Assistant Minister in Kendal he looked after two south Cumbrian Anglican churches for 11 years before returning to Kendal to take up his role at Parr Street in 2012. He grew up in the South Lakeland Town of Ulverston and started to follow Jesus as a teenager.
To relax, he loves watching (and occasionally playing!) football (he is a long suffering Blackpool FC fan) and eating hot curries.

Oliver (Oli) Jackson
ElderBorn in a Christian home but saved by grace at around 22 years old, Oliver is a farmers’ son, and has been a dry-stone waller since leaving school.
He now lives in Shap with his wife Charlotte and daughter Nora.
Oli enjoys football, walking the dog, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Mark Capstick
ElderBorn into a Christian farming family in Newbiggin-on-Lune, Mark went to school in Kirkby Stephen and is now a self-employed contractor in landscaping and building maintenance work. Mark is married to Helen and they have two grown-up daughters, Naomi and Lauren.
Mark committed his life to Jesus at the age of 17 during a Mission England campaign held in Newbiggin and was a member of the Methodist chapel there prior to joining Parr Street Church.
Mark enjoys his work, walking and family life and he is a regular member of our music team, helping to lead the singing in our services.
